2 step verification on iPod touch 4th Gen

I am trying to log in to iCloud on my iPod Touch 4th gen. I have two-factor verification setup and when I put the password into the iPod it asks for the verification code but there is nowhere to put this code. It just goes back to the enter password screen. Is the 4th gen iPod touch compatible with two-step verification?

It is running ios 6.1.6 (which is the latest software for this model).

Thanks

Retype your password followed by the six-digit v code in the field.

It worked for me.

What if I use two-factor authentication on a device running older software?

If you use two-factor authentication with devices running older OS versions, you might be asked to add your six-digit verification code to the end of your password when signing in. Get your verification codefrom a trusted device running iOS 9 and later or OS X El Capitan and later, or have it sent to your trusted phone number. Then type your password followed by the six-digit verification code directly into the password field.
