Model C:Program Files\iTunes\iTunesAdmin.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024770

Pretty stuck on this problem.


Model C:Program Files\iTunes\iTunesAdmin.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024770. Contact your support personnel.


windows 8.1 64 bit


I unistalled its failed copy, I went through computer and deleted any itunes info, cleaned out registry, emptied recycling bin, restarted, downloaded fresh copy, disabled antivirus, ran installer as administrator and this same error every time.


All the same steps as before but when i got the fresh copy i saved the button as not clicked the button to auto save to my computer, ran as administrator and now has the


Apple Application Support was not found.


Apple application support is required to run itunes. please uninstall itunes and reinstall again. error 2 (windows error 2)


I had followed the other pages steps, even off apple pages running windows compatibility and registry repair stuff and i'm still here.

null-OTHER, Other OS, notebook running windows 8.1 64 bit

It may help to temporarily disable any anti-virus software during the reinstallation of iTunes. Right-click the downloaded setup file and use the Run as administrator option.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
