LG Ultrafine 4K models not supported by LG Canada

Be aware if you are buying LG Ultrafine Monitor through Apple.

LG Representative is saying Apple Store are not Authorized dealer of LG and the product 22MD4KA-B warranty is only valid in the US.


Hi, I just got off with LG Live Chat support.

I bought 2 LG Ultrafine 4K Display (model: 22MD4KA-B) at an Apple Retail Store in Laval yesterday.

When I tried to register the product I could not found the model in their list and contact their support channel.

Here is what they told me :


Jane: Can you confirm the Model

Michel: 22MD4K-A

Jane: Yes that model is a US model that is why when you are trying to register it to our LG Canada website it is not pulling out

Michel: OK... Now what? I did purchase it through the Apple Store (brick and mortar) in Laval yesterday.

Jane: You can check that on this link http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-22MD4KA-B

Jane: There is no option to register that model to our system since this is LG Canada that model is not available on our end

Michel: OK... so what do I do?

Jane: And just to let you know the warranty of your Monitor is only valid in US

Jane: What I can suggest return it to them so they can replace it with a Canadian model.

Jane: We do not have International warranty for LG products.

Jane: That store is not an authorized dealer of LG that is why they are selling different models


Now I guess my only choice is to call back Apple so they get their product back... I'm starting to be really annoyed by all this.
