Received email from Apple to verify ID

I always received an email from Apple to ask me to verify my Apple ID because someone was used to log in my Icloud via a web from unfamiliar location. Is it true or it just a fake email?

Verify the sender's email address, see if it's something like ....apple.com

Chances are this email is a phishing email.

If you have any doubts, go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and change your Apple ID password and make it more secure password (longer and combination of symbols and numbers).
