Blurry text with Dell 2417h and MacBook Pro, please help!

Hi guys,

Just got myself a external monitor (Dell 24" UltraSharp u2417h) and plugged in my MacBook Pro Retina 15" Late-2013 using DP. To my great disappointment text and fonts look extremely blurred and not with a good definition, I can't stand reading anything on it.

I tried doing some research but I didn't get to any conclusions.

Space in set RGB in my Color Profile, so I guess running that script would not have any effect. I'm running Sierra.

Is this kind of monitor not compatible with Retina?

Can someone please let me know what should I do? I kept the boxes and all from the monitor.

thanks

Thomas

is automatically set in DP 1.2

the monitor max res is 1920x1080, could this be causing some issue with the retina res?

no haven't tried HDMI, but I need it works under DP since I'm using the other TB to another device, and I will use HDMI to second monitor.

I'm using the cable included in the box, from what I've read it seems to be DP cable. I tried the regular TB cable I have but nothing happened.

Images look neat...the problem is with text and fonts.

I need a fix!!! Plugging monitors should be a walk in the park... =(
