the same thing has happened to me and I'm constantly deleting apps. I can't download apps anymore because something on my phone keeps eating away my data. See? It's odd, those are the only apps I have left. I've gone onto the web and calculated it nothing really exceeds 3GB.

Hi, I too have approx. the same situation with my 16GB5s. Looking up data usage,
it shows my oem factory e-mail program is using 3.17GB of "mystery data".
Phone always pops up the "Out of memory" popup sign. So I've pared down to bare bones. My e-mails are emptied out, all baskets emptied, no trash. Yet still,
Phone shows same 3.17GB of mystery data used. I've searched through everything but cannot find anything even remotely e-mail related that relates to the 3.17 and growing GB of mystery data.
Should I delete all e-mail related then re-download it? Reset the whole phone to oem specs? Thank you!
Check Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage (under Storage) to learn what is consuming your space.
Just the operating system uses around 2GB !
Do as sberman says, you'll get a list of all the apps and how much space each one uses.

Yes but the things using it dissent add up to 11GB, it adds up to around 3GB
