Apple Watch series 2 calibration

Hello,

recently I bought Apple Watch series 2. I found Apple's guide how to calibrate Apple Watch, but my question is, do i need to take my IPhone with me when I'm going for a 20 min walk/run for Apple Watch calibration even thought i have a series 2 model? Will the calibration be better with iPhone? Or do i go for calibration walk/run only with my Apple Watch?

In future, i tend to use only my Apple Watch for running without taking my IPhone with me and thats why I would like the best calibration for it.

Thank You in advance!

Hi

For the best results, be sure to take your iPhone along during your calibration workouts.

When your iPhone is taken along, your watch will use Location Services data from your iPhone. This may be more accurate than data from the watch's built-in GPS, due to your iPhone's ability to use not only its own GPS, but also cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth data when determining your location.

Hello Jonathan,

thank You for Your response.

I have already read a first link You linked, how to calibrate but i was confused with sentence that if i dont have series 2 version that i need to take my iPhone with me for GPS, and thought if i got it that i dont need my iPhone with me.

Anyways I'll restart current calibration because Yesterday I did a little test around 400m track, and my Apple Watch showed 0,36km and I'm not really satisfied with that result, do You think that with a good calibration I can get a better results?

Thank You for Your response once again.
