does anybody have any good websites to download some free fonts from?
Fonts are pretty safe to download. Most sites are legit. Plus Macs have decent antivirus protection to stop you from killing your computer with malware. Some sites that I have used are:
There are a ton more sites too. You can google specific fonts too if you want something in particular
And were those users Mac users (for which there are essentially no viruses and you would have to try really hard to get one) or Windows users (for which there are thousands of viruses that can install with little trouble)?
When using Google Fonts, you first select the fonts you would like to use, then click on the "selected" area near the bottom to show the fonts and weights that you have selected. You can then either copy the code needed to use them as web fonts, or, you can click a small download icon to download the entire font locally. Simply double-click the downloaded .zip file to decompress the archive. Then, double-click a given .ttf file and it will prompt you to install the font locally.
when you download from here do they stay on your computer or are they temporary?
Thanks, I Have downloaded from dafont but apparently all last week everybody who was downloading from there was getting viruses
some were Mac some were Windows. Those that were mac were having issue no sooner of logging into their computer their screens would go black and not allow them to do anything
