transfer photos from camera to iPad without wifi
Going on a cruise. No wifi on this small boat. want to see photos at the end of each day. Is there a way to load from camera or SD card directly to iPad?

The SD card reader is exactly what you need. It works great. I've used it for years.
Just bear in mind that unless you have a 128 gig iPad, you can fill up space fast with photos. So I'd recommend buying and taking some extra SD cards as well. especially if you want to preserve your original photo. The ipad 'optimizes' the image, so if you just want ti to share on facebook you're fine, if you want it for any high quality or large size printing, keep the original on the card for future use.
Some digital cameras allow this; they're wifi enabled. Check your camera info to see if that's the case for you.
If you're doesn't, then read this:

And there's another option you may not have considered: take some of the pictures or movies with your iPad.
