Hi - the "..." had disappeared when I am being typed a message in messenger. How do I switch this back on please. Help!
iPhone 6 Plus, Messenger
Only works when using iMessage (not SMS) with the other person (Blue speech bubbles, not green ones).
In other word, only works when the other person also using iPhone and they have configured iMessage instead of regular SMS.
Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply. We both have blue reply bubbles and are both using iPhone 6 pluses. I can see her "..." on my phone when she replies, but there are no "..." when I reply back to her. Is it a settings thing then, do you think?
Hiya, it's when the reply is being typed that she doesnt see the "...". As you say, normally this would appear whilst a reply is being typed, but for for some reason it had stopped appearing at this point - i.e. the reply will appear without the "..." being shown whilst it is being typed.
Hello, the animated "..." as seen below only appears when the other person is typing a reply to you.
When you type a reply you won't see this.
She will see the animated "..." on her iPhone when you type a reply on your iPhone.
You will see the animated "..." on your iPhone, when she is typing a reply on her iPhone.
Does that make sense?
It does, but we don't she the "..."on her phone when I'm typing to her. It's how to get that back that's the problem. Weird problem I know!
Check the following setting on your iPhones:
Settings → Messages → Send Read Receipts = ON
