I was using MDM to enforce things like no apps/chat/games at night via ourPact. School requires I install Google's MDM profile to configure child's gmail/docs/etc. I can't have two MDMs at the same time, so I have to choose between locking down the iPad at night and her ability to do homework?
It would appear so. As you say, one ruler per kingdom.
Does the school's MDM offer the features you need? I would guess they've had this discussion with other parents.
Yours is a common issue I would guess.
I asked, and they shrugged and said it was part of the "package" they got from google to get all the students set up with email, homework shares, etc.
I'm going to try getting all the apps set up with their settings, then deleting the google profile and reinstalling the ourPact one. Ideally if all they were doing is using it to configure the apps, once they are installed the profile should no longer be needed until they update something?
Hard to say. Only they would know if removing the profile would impact what they set up using the profile.
School needs MDM to be installed. Overrides parental controls?
