iPhone 6S - Siri saying she has multiple contacts for my Wife
Siri is causing me to not pay attention to the road ... last night I said "Hey Siri Text Wife" and Siri said "these are the phone numbers and email addresses for contacts named [my wife's name] Which one should I use? Then proceed to read back 17 different possible contacts (mobile phone, mobile phone, work phone, work phone, work phone, work phone, other phone, other phone, other phone etc. etc.).
Next I tried "Hey Siri Text Wife Mobile" ... I have two contacts for contacts named [my wife's ma,e]. Which one should I use ? {I selected one}. Sorry Scott, something's gone wrong, can you try that again ?
Try it again, select the "other one". Same thing ...
Fortunately traffic had not stopped in front of me.
I have one contact with my wife's name. It shows up once in Contacts.
"My" contact card has the relationship correct, and only once. I only have one wife.
I have only one source of contacts on my iPhone (iCloud).
I do not have Facebook enabled to access contacts.
I have turned off "Allow Google Voice to access Contacts ".
I have turned off iCloud contacts and turned it back on. (When iCloud contacts is off, there are 0 contacts on my phone). Re-enabling it re-downloads all contacts from iCloud.
In iCloud, there is one contact for [my wife's name].
i have powered down the iPhone and re-powered it.
My MBP's instance of Siri has no problem with "Text Wife" and executes the command correctly.
My iPad's instance of Siri has no problem with "Text Wife" and executes the command correctly.
I have turned off "Contacts Found in Apps" under Settings->Contacts.
My Mac, iPad and iPhone are all sync'ed to the same iCloud account, and there is only one user of that account.
I have now spent 3 hours my my Sunday messing with this so I can be hands free in the car when I need to send a text to my wife. Why is Siri on my iPhone being so obtuse ? How can I get the instance of her on my iPhone to just send the text to the mobile number for my wife like the instances of her on my Mac and iPad seem to be able to understand ???
