Headphone jack error.

I've had this problem twice. The first time, they replaced my phone no problem (headphones wouldn't even fit in the jack), and the second time with the new phone. You could hear the noise it makes when connected to an aux cord, so it was readable, just no sound would come out. I brought it in again, and we simply reset my phone (delete the apps but save your pics/contacts). According to the genius, it was a software issue and the problem was resolved after being reset. Try this first before bringing it in:)

Sounds like a mechanical problem. Take it to the nearest Apple Store. Probably a good idea to make an appointment with the resident "Genius" before you go.
