How can I use my Numbers Template created on iMac with iCould Numbers?

I have created a few custom templates with Numbers on my iMac which is very helpful to use when I create a new spreadsheet for my work but I don't know how I can add these templates to my iCloud Numbers application in order to use them when I am away from my iMac. If that is not doable, is it possible to create a spreadsheet with iCloud Numbers and then save it as Template to iCloud Numbers? Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Eric,

I guess I did not explain myself properly. I just followed your instructions but all it does is to copy my Numbers file to my iCloud Drive. I want to add my Numbers file to the "Template" menu of iCloud Numbers so that when I use my iOS devices to create a new Numbers file, I can choose the file from "My Template" of iCloud Numbers template menu. I know I can do that in my iMac by saving Numbers as template (see the screenshot) but how can I do the same in iCloud Numbers?

You need to first open the template in Numbers for Mac then File > Save as Template. Instead of selecting "Add to Template Chooser" click Save.

You will be asked where to save the file, best place would be Numbers iCloud. To check you are saving the template untick "Hide Extension" and see the file type is .nmbtemplate. Give your template a name then click Save.

Open Numbers on your iOS device, the newly created template will appear in the Spreadsheet Manager. Tap this then "Add to Templates" at the prompt. Your template is now saved in the Template Manager at the bottom. You can now delete the file from the Spreadsheet Manager.

Hope this helps.
