Safari in iPad mini not working, my iOS 10.2 up to date. Safari works only on my iPhone 6splus

Safari app not working on iPad min, iOS 10.2 is up to date. Noticed that not even Safari is listed on iTunes. Safari works fine on my iPhone 6splus. I need to update the iOS on phone but scared Safari won't work after that. I am working with Firefox at the time which is the pits on my mini iPad. Is there something that I need to go to get Safari working again?
