Hi, did you ever find a solution to your problem? It's happened to me as well and I've tried everything - deleting, reinstalling, rebooting, using whatsapp web - NOTHING! I can't seem to find anyone else having this issue on another forum as well, if you do have a solution pls let me know, thanks!

Exactly!! I emailed them too and they directed me to their FAQ page. When i told them there wasn't a solution there, they just stopped replying!!! I'm using an iPhone 7 plus too, could it have something to do with that?? But it was working initially, just a few weeks ago... It's so frustrating!! Does anyone have a solution to this??

Unfortunately i think it's my whatsapp account ??. At first, even when i couldn't search on my phone, i could still search on whatsapp web within the chat. But ever since this week, even when i search in whatsapp web it says "no messages found". The weirdest part is that it works fine on my brother's iPhone 7 too, and when he connected his whatsapp to my laptop's whatsapp web, he could search there as well!! So for the fact that BOTH the app and the web are not working only for me, it seems to be a problem with my account. Since the whatsapp web search stopped working at least 2 weeks after i already couldn't search on my phone. So annoying!! Does the search work on whatsapp web for you? You have to click on the magnifying glass within the selected chat, near the top right corner.

It doesn't work for me on whatsapp web too. Have you tried signing in with your account on a different phone? I'm going to try it now. If it still doesn't work then it's pretty sure it's our account thats the problem. But oh gawd why tho... Stessing me out so much as I use that function all the time for work I have 500 active chats to search through.

They finally replied my MANY emails and said that It was because i didn't allow my back up to properly load according to their logs??? and told me to leave my whatsapp running in the background for a while and it should load. But it still doesn't work for me. Maybe it will work for you!

I have same problem. Currently im using iphone 7 plus.bad impression for me. Last time im using android all the fuction is well working include searching function on whatsapp. Sigh. Im plan to sell my iphone 7 plus and use back android phone

Workaround = Click the name of the Chat. Scroll down to Export Chat. Select to export "Without Media". This will ZIP the entire conversation history which you can then email to yourself. Inside the ZIP is a plain text file, for the entire conversation of that Chat, which you can search through for the text you need. Not ideal, but it works.

OMG I'm having the same exact problem too! I've literally tried EVERYTHING! Even restored my whole iPhone 7. Is making me crazy I've contacted WhatsApp but haven't gotten a reply at all

Maybe is only on some of the iPhone 7 series. My friends' iPhone 7 are working fine though. At this point I don't even know what to do. Not sure is it a problem with the App or my phone.

It happens with IOS 10.3.1. In IOS 10.3.2 it doesn't happen anymore.

But that's not correct ! I'm up to date 10.3.2 or 10.2.3 and WhatsApp is also updated ... but i can't search
