It has happened to my iPhone 7 (rose gold) as well! I was told by a man at a phone shop that it was the sun bleaching it. I want to get it sorted to as its bugging me. If you find a solution please tell me.

I have a rose gold and its happening to me to. I contacted Apple Support online, they are wanting photos to see if it is going to be covered through apple Warranty. I bought my phone in February, they first said it was due to normal wear but its absurd, how is it normal wear if I have not had the phone for even a year yet? Can you please tell me how you resolved your issue if you ever did?

Yes they told me at first that it's something they don't usually cover. But that they would make a one time exception only. I think it's ridiculous that at first they wouldn't cover the cost of fixing it because I've never had a phone that would discolor.
