Macbook Pro 2016 with Touchbar battery drain in sleep

I haven't ever been in the habit of totally shutting down my computer each day. I usually just shut the lid and stick it in my bag. The next day I pull it out and the charge has always been about where I left it. That was on my 2013 MBP retina. Now I just bought the 2016 MBP with touchbar and when I get my computer out of the bag it has usually lost some battery from say 80% to 60% overnight while in my bag. This has me concerned. Do I have a setting wrong or is there some way I can fix this?

You should look at the Energy Saver settings in System Preferences. See what the settings are for Wake for Wi-Fi. Your laptop can be woken up

Also check your bluetooth settings.

Your laptop can be woken up by other events which may wake it up.

I too find the laptop the next day has drained. More often than not, it's 0%.

Similar problem with Touch Bar MBP. Power Nap is disabled but it keeps checking emails (and more) while asleep. I can tell because in the morning, there are a bunch of emails that I received overnight in my Mail app. If Power Nap was truly disabled, none of these emails should already be here when I open the lid.

I feel like there are too many people having this issue for Apple to not have noticed. Hopefully will be fixed in next macOS update...

Yeah, ever since my left usb-c port malfunction and it seems like affect the touchbar somehow, one thing lead to another, my MacBook has sleep/wake failure and draining battery. After several times of SMC reset and energy saver set as default, the problem still comes back. Not sure its hardware or software or whatever needed to be updates, I will send this 2 months old MacBook for repair.

I have the exact same issue. My MacbookPro with touch bar drains as much as 20% of battery in 24 hours of sleep mode. This is unacceptable.

I've gone 3 times to the Genius bar for support.

First time they ran diagnostics, changed a few settings and asked me to check if it performed better. It did not. Also, the store associate seemed a bit clueless about the new OS power settings.

Second time I went there, they reset my computer. It improved a bit, but still drains 10% overnight.

Today, third time, I left it there for repair.

Something in the system is not really making the computer go to sleep mode, but nobody can figure out what. It is also new and I haven't installed any software...

I also have this problem on a MacBook Pro that is about a month old (with the fancy touch bar). I will shut the lid with 30% or more in power, and a few hours later open it with 0% power.

At first I thought it was bluetooth devices, then I checked and in bluetooth settings/advanced I DO NOT have "Allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer." Nevertheless I made sure my magic mouse was turned off. This did not fix the problem.

I next checked to be sure that power nap was NOT enabled in energy settings. It was NOT enabled for battery, but was enabled when plugged in. I turned it off in both places just to be sure. I have not tested to see if turning off the power nap while plugged in will fix the problem I am having when not plugged in (it _should_ have no effect... but then my Mac should not be draining its battery either).

Then I went into activity monitor and looked at the energy dashboard. NONE of my apps say "yes" in the "Preventing sleep" column. However, I do see that the highest "average energy impact" is Amazon Drive with significantly higher "impact" than anything else:

Amazon Drive 19.95

Box Sync 3.95

Google Chrome 3.57

Mail 2.10

everything else is below 2, the vast majority below 0.25

So for lack of a better idea (since the Apple options do not behave as advertised, apparently) I'll try to uninstall Amazon Drive...
