I have an ASUS monitor which connected without issue to my MacBook Air but now all I get is a black screen on the monitor. Initially the monitor says HDMI no signal. I have tried both ports.

ASUS monitor reads "HDMI no signal" connecting to 2016 Mac book pro. It is recognized by the computer, but the screen is black.

The 2016 MacBook Pro has USB-C ports. Are you using a USB-C to HDMI adapter? If so, I suggest that you double-check both the adapter and the HDMI cable to make sure they are securely inserted.

You may also need to reset the HDMI input settings on your Asus monitor.
