iOS 10.2.1 news widget disappeared in Ireland.

I was having this problem (iPhone 5c with iOS 10.2.1 in Italy) and Apple Support provided to me a step-by-step procedure to fix this issue:

1. Open Settings → General → Language & Region, switch Region to United States and confirm.
2. Wait for iOS to apply the change then open the Notification Center, touch the Search field, press Cancel (you don't need to type anything) and close the Notification Center.
3. Open Settings app → General → Language & Region, switch Region back to your country name and confirm.
4. Wait for iOS to apply the change then open the Notification Center, touch the Search field, press Cancel (you don't need to type anything) and close the Notification Center.
5. You should see the News widget again.

With News, you can read articles that include rich multimedia, such as galleries, videos, and animations. You can explore topics from a variety of sources and add favorites to get the news that you want. You can also save articles to read later—online or offline.

News is available in the United States with iOS 9 or later, and in the United Kingdom and Australia with iOS 9.1 or later.

As you see in the article, the News widget is only available in the US, UK, and Australia.

I am in Canada, and my News are gone now from the lock screen after 10.2.1 update I appltoday. Yes, I know the widget for news is not available in Canada. I am talking about the news page you usually get on your lock screen. Please advise

Same for me in france. It happen if you update OTA your firmware. I get it again by restoring my iphone in 10.2.1 with itunes. Finally i tried 10.3 beta OTA and lost it again.

It a bit dispapointing cause i like it.

I am in Canada. Both my wife and I had the news widget. I got her a new iPhone. Did a back up of her old 5s, then restored it on the new phone. Now, her news widget is no longer present, however, mine still is. We both have software version 10.2.1. I have been trying to get it back for her for the past two days without success. I just hope with the next update, mine won't disappear.

Yes it's the same here in France. I had news in French in the lock screen, but now only "Couldn't load stories".

Same with me, I'm in Canada and the news widget in the notifications screen (where all the other widgets are) has disappeared after the update. How disappointing

Same problem for me (Italy). I had the news widget, but with the latest update it has disappeared. It's quite baffling.

In the Netherlands, the news app disappeared installing the latest firmware update.

Same here in Mexico. Same problem with the News widget. It's missing.
