Facetime reduces gain when I speak

Hello everyone. I currently have a MacBook 12" 2016.

When I speak with somebody else on FaceTime, if they talk while I am talking I cannot hear them, like if FaceTime completely disables their microphones or my speakers. But on the other side when they speak and I reply they can hear me while speaking with no issues. When they talk with other people they have no problems in talking and hearing at the same time.

I found an old thread here (Remote MacBook Pro reduces mic gain when I talk over FaceTime) regarding the same issue, but nobody replied. As this issue is very annoying and frustrating (especially because this mute is triggered even when there is a light ambient noise as well) and a google search made me understand I'm one of the few people to have this issue, is there any solution I can do?

It happens either if they/me are using headphones or if they/me are using the speakers, it happens if we keep audio noise reduction on or off.

Currently I have found no solutions on the internet.

Thanks to anyone who will answer me.
