Safari 10.0.3 History, Cookies and Caches Keeps Returning After Deletion

Hello,

Specs:

  • MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)
  • 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
  • 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
  • Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
  • MacOS Sierra macOS 10.12.3 (16D32)
  • Safari 10.0.3 (12602.4.8)

When deleting all Safari data manually, accessing by the folder "Library", keep coming back when the computer is connected to internet.

Yes, I have iCloud Safari turned on and an iPhone 5 with iOS 7 is linked together with the Mac.

Before updating to Sierra, I have never experienced this and I always deleted manually all data with option - go - Library.

Thanks for any help!

Go to Safari > Preferences > Privacy then click Manage Website Data then click Remove All. Then click Manage Website Data and Remove All one more time.

Sometimes it takes clicking Remove All twice.

It's not just Sierra. I noticed this happening after updating to Safari 10.0.3.

If you go to System Preferences/iCloud and uncheck Safari syncing, can you then delete the data successfully? If so, on the phone, double click the Home button and swipe Safari upwards. Go to Settings/Safari and clear History and Website Data. Open Safari and test.

Have you tried disconnecting from the Internet and then deleting it? Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db and move it to the trash.
