Bose SoundSport mic & control NOT Working

I know other people have complained about this issue but that was awhile ago. I have iPhone 7 (iOs 10.2.1), and just purchased Bose SoundSport. I use the lightning adapter to connect the headset. The sound works perfectly, however, the inline mic and controller won't function. I tried Apple's original headset for iPhone 6, the same thing happened: sound ok but no mic/controller! I tried a different adapter, didn't work. I tried plug/unlplug multiple times, no luck. I know the mic works because I tested it in my iPad. Before purchasing the headset, I asked Bose via Amazon, and they did mention that the headset should be fully functioning with iPhone 7!


Any idea? Thanks

Well, it is obvious from what you are describing that the issue isn't the SoundSports (and yes it will work with the 7. I have one). Two things to consider:

  1. Check to make sure you have the 3.5 mm pin inserted all the way on the adapter.
  2. Make sure the pin port on the phone doesn't have any debris in it.
  3. Try a forced restart: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button.
  4. Try another 3.5 to Lightening adapter


My bet is on number 4.
