Better extension privacy settings

I love all the possible functionality that can be added through Safari extensions except for the fact that they all have permission to "read, modify, and transmit content from all webpages. This could include sensitive information like passwords, phone numbers, and credit cards" -- This makes them completely unusable. Who in their right mind would agree to this? Regardless if it is a "vendor you trust" as some people say, it still makes no sense.

I would love to see a fix for this. Some kind of privacy settings that blocks the access of your information to the extensions, or have the extensions work offline without the ability to collect your data, or have obviously personal data encrypted and the rest of it passed anonymously.

I don't really care if they're collecting my website usage or something but-- passwords and credit cards?

Really any fix would be better than the current state of things.
