allowing access to my library?

I know this might be the wrong place to ask this, but my net search for instagram help has proved fruitless.

how secure is allowing instagram access to my photo library?

can images be posted to instagram without allowing access to my library?

I don't use Instagram, but I use other apps that I have allowed access to my Photos app. Because iOS apps are sandboxed, you need to allow the app access to the photos app if you want to be able to post those photos in the app. All apps that use Photos in iOS work the same way.
