Wifi disconnects randomly - iOS 10.2.1

Hello friends,

I have an iPhone 7 Plus that was with iOS 10.1.1 installed, everything working perfectly. But then I saw that iOS 10.2.1 was released, and whenever a "big" update is released (10.1 to 10.2), I restore through iTunes and set it up as new (without getting backup). From there I started my problem, in iOS 10.2.1, now the wifi disconnects randomly, and I can not even download a large file from the App Store (some games with more than 400 MB). What I tried to do:

- settings -> general -> reset -> reset network settings

- restarted iphone

- disabled / enabled airplane mode

- disabled background app refresh

I tried 2 different wifi networks (at home and at company). At home, it is working just fine, but at company, the problem persists. I have never had this problem in wifi's company!! Everything started when I updated to iOS 10.2.1....

Is someone having this problem too?

SOLVED!!

At company, I just disabled WMM (Wifi Multimedia) and now my iphone 7 plus + iOS 10.2.1 has not disconnected at all !!! PS: at home, my router has WMM enabled and doesn't disconnect... so strange.

I have a similar problem with my iPhone 6s. I'm connected to internet and everything works just fine, except for social media. I can use any applications except snapchat, instagram, twitter, facebook, and pinterest. Here's what I've done:

-Reset > All network settings

-Reset > All content and settings

-Downloaded the iOS 10.3 beta

Can anyone fix my issue??

I'm also having this issue with my 7 Plus. And this is now a relatively major problem. As I've noticed an increase in 1 GB of usage in data this month, just in the mornings and throughout the day. I shut my phone off each night, and looking at my carrier, it seems that the WiFi doesn't re-connect when the phone turns back on, so it just uses my cellular data each and every morning looking at all my emails, checking facebook and videos start going. Nothing's changed with my wireless phone usage (I've been turning it off every night for 3 months now), nothing's changed with my WiFi, and all other wifi devices work great, and this started when I got the latest iOS update to 10.2.1.

What seems to be happening with the phone is that it'll try to connect to the WiFi, but it actually won't pull an IP address from my DHCP server/router. This becomes an issue when your DHCP address lease expires, the phone won't get an address, and will just start using cell data. What's worse, is the icon makes it look like it's on WiFi, but the reality is it's trying to get an IP address, but not getting one. Sadly, there's no fix for this available among us users. Apple's gotta fix this one.

I guess I owe my carrier an apology after reaming them out yesterday. I just noticed the problem and paid attention to it this morning. I never noticed because eventually the phone would pull an IP address from my WiFi, or I would have left home for the gym/office when there would be no WiFi. The only difference is I turned off all cell data yesterday morning. The icon would still show up, and what I suspect is the phone is using it's last known address until it thinks no IP address is coming, and then it gives itself an auto private, and stops working with WiFi and reverts back to cell data. Definitely a problem with the phone, and it's software.

I have had this same problem for a couple of months now - I'm absolutely fed up with it.

I can't even compose this message using a perfectly good Wifi signal in my own home without using 4G. I have an iPhone 6S and have tried all of the usual tricks - resetting everything; you name it I've tried it.

This is a farcical situation. Come on Apple, sort it out quickly or I for one are taking my custom elsewhere.

iPhone 6s Plus. After the latest iOS update, I am having bluetooth connectivity issues as well as degraded 2.4ghz wifi speed. (5ghz works just fine.) Had internet company come out thinking it was their issue. Within the family we have iPad, 5s, 6 and 7. All have been updated with iOS 10.2.1 - ran tests and none of those devices have issues...only the 6s Plus. I have tried all of the recommended resets with no avail. Not a happy camper.

I have been on tech support a number of times with this same issue. Wifi bums out after a few minutes and sometimes it doesn't even recognize my wifi password. I have been told to return phone to factory settings, which is insane. It doesn't work and is a major hassle. Apple doesn't want to acknowledge that it is their update that caused the problem!

Problem Solved! I was facing the same issue on my iphone 6 plus. Tried all the possible solutions such as resetting network settings, restarting routers, resetting iphone etc. But none of the aforementioned worked for me. Finally i changed the SSID name and it worked like a charm :) never got any disconnections issue again.

The possible problem could be the already saved SSIDs with the similar names.
