I have the same error, "not a valid Win 32 application" I just got this iPod for Christmas and already I'm having problems. I'm suprised that no Apple people have replied to this...shows how much they know. 😟
I know... it makes me mad that not one Apple staff person has commented on this... if your an Apple staff reading this right now, I would really appreciate it if you would please comment. Many other people have had this problem but put it in another forum...oh well.
seriously! I've been waiting months for this iPod now I cant even use it! 😟 And theres a bunch of people with the same problem! I cant even take my iPod out of the computer because you need iTunes to hit the eject button! -_- come on guys where are you? Even if you dont have an answer yet tell us. Telling us you dont know yet is better than ignoring us.
Any one figure out what to do when you get this error? I talked to an Apple help desk person and she said to uninstall quick time and my previous version of i-tunes and try again. I did that and am still getting the error. She made it sound like it was due to volume of people attempting to down load the 7.0 upgrade software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
They better respond soon or we might have to rise up in revolt.... :-p i dont think its that sooo many people are downloading iTunes... 😟 but what do I know. They're the experts. Do you think it has something to do with the version of Windows you have? What do you all have? And how do you know what "service pack" you got?

About the not being able to eject it from your computer... I have a nano(i don't know if it would be the same for anything else but...) and many time my computer has frozen and I haven't been able to press the eject button...I took it out anyways even though it says "Don't disconnected". I've done this plenty of time and my iPods fine. Good Luck and Happy Holidays!
There should be an option in task bar (right hand corner) to safely remove hardware. Double click on that and select ipod and select stop. You can then safely remove it.
