MacBook Pro repair Extension Program for video issues

Hello, My Mac Book Pro has just been diagnosed with the video issues that were being addressed during the repair extension program which finished on 31.12.2016. My Mac started having issues a week later from this date, which were a blue screen on start-up. I was initially told this may be third-party kernels but after a diagnostics test at the genius bar they tell me it is the video issue affecting Mac Book Pros 2011 - 2013.

I've been offered some support from Apple but wondered if anyone else has had a similar issue of late or can help in regards to the best approach especially when it went from third-party kernels to there are no parts to help you fix your mac. My mac is still starting up and only has the blue-screen intermittently again after I did a utility repair.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Many thanks
