Imac 15,1 memory upgrade

Hi all. Just bought a reconditioned retina 5k imac (the first one that came out) for a very reasonable price. Only comes with 8gb ram so would like to upgrade.

Read various different reports of maximum ram it will power (I know the new one goes to 32gb officially but will run 64gb). Crucial website only selling up to 16gb for the older version - could anyone offer a definitive answer please? Never upgraded ram before so I'm a complete notice although the installation itself looks simple.

Also noticed on crucial website some very reasonably priced ssd. Mine comes with a fusion - how easy it is to install? Thanks in advance.
