Missing operating system error when installing windows 10 bootcamp to external SSD

I've spent the last 4 days trying to install it, but keep getting a missing operating system error upon restart. The system works fine with the internal hard drive.

I installed windows to an internal partition using a USB stick, then used WinClone to copy the partition data to the external SSD. Then I get this error when trying to boot.

I have no idea where I am going wrong, all of the windows files seems to be on the SSD.

Actually, I think that's what I have on my USB, that I used to install it in the first place. However, I cannot seem to get to startup repair. Every time it loads, it just opens with starting a fresh install

If you have another USB2 flash drive, you can try the following

1. BC Assistant Action -> Download... to a FAT/MBR-formatted USB Flash drive.

2. Copy the entire contents of the Windows 10 ISO to the USB drive's root folder.

Try to boot from this USB, and test if you can run Startup Repair.

Boot configuration store could not be opened..

If you boot from the internal disk's Windows installation, can you see files on the external disk?

No, it says I need to format the disk. J can only see the content if I boot in OS

I don't know exactly what you mean,

Do you mean that I have to boot from the windows partition that I have made?

I have found the boot folder, however there are no entries and no BCD. I only have various folders and three .efi files.

Does this mean they were lost when resizing the SSD during cloning?

Can you post the output of

diskutil list

df -h

from OS X Terminal with the external disk connected?
