How can I get webgl2 to work

Hello,

I just read that Firefox 51.0 and Chrome 56.0 now support WebGL 2, so I wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately, I couldn't get WebGL 2 to work in either browser on my iMac11,1 from late 2009 which has an ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card. I read that the driver for the card may need an update but I haven't seen any updates released by Apple lately and I have no idea if that is the problem. Has anyone succeeded in running WebGL 2 on a Mac?

When I try to view the After the Flood sample from the web page below, I get the error message:

"This demo requires WebGL 2.0 support. Please update to the latest version of Mozilla Firefox."

Thank you for your answer, but the article you refer to applies to WebGL 1.0. To my knowledge, Safari's latest version (currently 10.0.3) doesn't support WebGL 2.0. Only Firefox versions 51 and onwards, Chrome versions 56 and onwards and Opera versions 42+ support WebGL 2.0 (http://caniuse.com/#feat=webgl2).

Unfortunately, I can't get WebGL 2.0 working on any of those browsers on my iMac 27" of late 2009. I don't know if this is because Apple hasn't updated the drivers for the ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card on my iMac.
