Lexar jumpdrive c20i + iPad Pro: not working

I have a Lexar jumpdrive c20i 32GB and an iPad Pro 12.9 256GB iOS 10.2. The jump drive works on my iPhone 5c but not on the iPad. I contacted Lexar and they got me to reformat the jumpdrive as EXFAT using my iMac's Disk Utility.

I followed their instructions. The Jump Drive c20i was reformatted as EXFAT for the iPad Pro (256GB). It works on my iPhone but still cannot be seen on the iPad Pro. The lightning port on the iPad Pro is working OK because I can use other USB devices on it.

I had already downloaded Lexar Memory Manager app. It works fine on the iPhone but cannot even see the jumpdrive when connected to the iPad Pro. I deleted and re-downloaded the app on the iPad Pro. The app always reports that there is no drive connected.

The Lexar tech suggested it might be a driver issue on the iPad Pro. I hesitate to believe that since I just updated to latest iOS.

Any suggestions

I had the same problem. In order to work with you iPad Pro, you have to buy the levar jump drive with the white plastic piece (not the black one) sorry but I don’t know either the name for that small piece attached to the wire, neither it’s propose. ....having said that, you can still install the Lexar Mobile Manager (blue icon) ...it works with the Jim flash with black plastic on it.... except it does not move the image horizontally..you have to use it in a vertical position all the time, which is a pain with the iPad!

so basically just buy the jumpflash with the white plastic.

hope it helped.

Reading through reviews on Amazon, some said if it wasn't ejected from your computer then the iPad wouldn't see it. Others said that iOS10 broke the device, and still more reviews suggest that the device can be quite buggy.

If Lexar can't help you then it's doubtful that Apple will do anything. Apple expects third party vendors to make their stuff fit into Apple's infrastructure, not the other way around. So Lexar will need to fix whatever issue there may be
