Yes metro pcs supports the iPhone.
If you have another phone carrier you have to make sure your iPhone is unlocked and compatible with metros network. Which iPhone model do you have? It's on the back bottom of your device. It's also at Settings > General > About > Model

What network was the phone with prior? Did you pay full price for it or were you and a contract at once?
When you purchase a phone Full price it is unlocked and can be used with any carrier as long as it has the correct hardware antenna in it.
Most phones have both GSM and CDMA hardware, with the exception of the new iPhone 7. AT&T's and T-Mobile's 7 series model phones only have GSM (not CDMA)and the hardware and can only be used on those networks that support it. Verizon and Sprint models only support a CDMA network, although there hardware has both GSM and CDMA. 90% of overseas networks are GSM.
Find out what networks MetroPCS uses. Usually they share networks towers
Unlocked phones on all models have both antennas GSM and CDMA I could be used on any network and overseas

Hi. I tried hooking up my 2 year old iPhone 5s to metro pcs. I've used about 6 hours of my own time trying to convince them my used. Or (byop) deal Hooking it up for my 12 year old daughter isn't a scam.
And I still have no lte service
