My keyboard and mouse will not connect, I have new batteries, the devices are paired, my Mac's bluetooth is on and discoverable how can I get these two devices to connect ?

yes-if you have a wired keyboard, use that, go to bluetooth settings at the top of your screen, and delete the device, and then add in it and try to re-pair. see this article....
