I purchased a Bose Solo from Costco and I have a new Apple TV - yet I cannot get the Apple TV remote to control the volume on the speaker. The speaker is plugged in via optical to my TV. I tried the learn new device under the volume settings - yet still no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi. Does the Bose remote control it by IR or Bluetooth? Do you need to aim the remote at the unit? If it uses Bluetooth, you cannot control it with the Apple TV remote.
some tv's vol is also controlled by hdmi codes from the appletv that the tv interp not sure if that would work with an optical connected speaker to the tv unless the tv can control it's volume
It uses IR to control - not Bluetooth.
