Greyed out songs in iTunes on my device

Hi,

I have a strange problem. On iTunes, all my songs play fine and they sync fine on my iPhone. They play fine on my iPhone, even when the iPhone is connected to a speaker.

But when I try to play them through iTunes, under the "device" tab, many songs are greyed out and they won't play.

Does anyone know why? How can I change that?

I use that at work to play music.

Many thanks,

I appreciate the pic!

The bold face list has songs that are fully loaded on your device. You can play them immediately.

The gray face list with a circle are songs that haven't been downloaded or synced to your device. In this case, you must sync the songs, or delete them if they're a duplicate or a song you don't want.

If a song is in bold and on your playlist, just enjoy the music.

If the song is a duplicate and has a circle, you can delete it. The next time you sync, you won't see the dupes.
