https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/ not working Apple are you kidding???

I noticed as of yesterday that icloud.com/activationlock was having errors. As of today that page now says that it can not be found.

Is there a new method of checking the IMEI / Serial of a device online? Without this tool how is one to know that they will be able activate a used device that they could potentially be purchasing via eBay, Craigslist, etc...

Even on Apple's activation lock support page https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201365 they stopped mentioning "icloud.com/activationlock" webpage when scrolling down to the question "How do I check for Activation Lock before I buy a used device?".. Disappointed 😠

Activation Lock is enabled automatically when you set up Find My iPhone.

You may be right, you should wait for confirmation one way or the other.
