This message appears during sync: iTunes can't verify the identity of the server safebrowsing clients.google.com

Anyone else getting this message when they sync their iphone to itunes? It has to do with the new itunes update (12.5.5) because when I uninstalled it and installed the prior version (12.5.4). I did not get that message when I synced it. In case any are wondering, I was able to download the older version through filehippo.com.

So, for the time being, if anyone does not want to keep getting that message, I would go back to the last version. If anyone was able to find a fix for the latest version, please let me know. I have no idea what in the world this message has to do with syncing the iphone. I already went to my Safari settings and deleted the history, but that did nothing.

Thanks.

See this doc - Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. Specifically Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components and iTunes installers. The iTunes installers link lists many, many version of iTunes that can be downloaded.

Also this link shed some light on the safebrowsing - http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/101556/what-is-safari-safe-browsing-dat a-and-why-does-it-need-to-copy-every-tim…

This apparently is an issue only in version 12.5.5.5. One user was able to clear the error by clearing out their Safari browsing history, others have not. Why this version of iTunes for Windows is seeing anything related to Safari is a mystery. Safari is no longer supported on Windows. Your rolling back to version 12.5.4.42 appears to be the best workaround.
