I cant access dowloaded movies on my ipad without a wifi conection?

Ok, so I spend a bunch of time with Apple support, and this worked for me:

Double click your home button and clear all open apps by swiping up. Then let’s go to settings>iTunes and app store and tap your Apple ID and sign out. Restart your device and then sign back in. Once done make sure wifi is turned on and go to the tv app and make sure your downloaded content appears. Then go to airplane mode and check if content still plays. Then clear app again and relaunch and test whilst still in airplane mode.

Before you went through this whole convoluted procedure, did you try my much simpler procedure?

My procedure came from another single post user who I can't remember or give proper credit to.

The workaround I posted, for getting the new TV app to work without Wifi, seemed to work for quite a few users already.

Thanks. I did indeed. Your workaround works.... as long as you remember to launch TV BEFORE you lose wifi/data. If you forget before you leave service area or go to airplane mode on the plane, you're hosed. This fix I published now works for me AFTER I've lost service for whatever reason. This is the way the app is SUPPOSED to work.

Someone had a workaround.

Launch the TV app while connected to Wifi.

Once launched, try turning off Wifi and then try to play your movies without WiFi on.

I think this is a bug in the TV app.
