Neither Apple nor Netflix seem to provide a Netflix app.
However, I had at one point or another successfully gotten a Netflix "app" to download via Chrome. Nevertheless It was really just an internet shortcut.
Hope this helps!

Everyone keeps saying it is not an issue not being able to have an app on mac book, just open a web browser. But it is an issue when you have limited internet access. With the apps on the iphone and ipad, you are able to download shows/movies to watch later, where as with a web browser this is not an option.

That is a Netflix decision, not an Apple issue. It is hard to pirate a movie that is on an Apple "i"device so NF allows downloading to them. However, were they to allow movies to be downloaded to a computer hard drive, pirating would be easy and the movie distribution people who have signed off on the way NF is set up now would probably withdraw support and products. You don't want that. If that explanation is not satisfactory, you need to take it up directly with Netflix. I suspect they will happily recommend their DVD service.

Today's online entertainment model is not designed for "limited internet access." I live in Idaho and many people in rural areas are stuck with sluggish satellite internet. I have friends who bring their computer to town when visiting my house to install Apple updates over our 100MBps cable connection. The big entertainment providers don't care--they can make all the money they want from "folks what live in the Big City."
There is no Netflix App for Mac, however there's really no point for an App since you can use any browser to log in to the Netflix website and watch movies there directly.
