Port 5003 refuses to open

Hi All.

I'm trying to make a Mac mini, with Sierra OS and AirPort Extreme to be a server for Filemaker server. It needs port 5003 opened.

So I follow the usual procedures to open the port, as can be seen in the pictures. Yet, the port refuses to open, as checked by canyouseeme... I contacted my ISP and they swear that they're not blocking any ports..

Any ideas?

Yes, I tried from another Mac. Using the IP of the Airport, I can't access it, but using the internal Adress 10.0.1.2 I can

Ok, that is not really testing the external WAN connection to the Fileserver server. You will have to physically take a Mac outside of your local network to properly run the connectivity test.

My network cable (fiber optics) is hooked directly to the Airport, no mid-men...

It starts with 172...

An IP address starting with 172 is a local IP address. That means that either your fiber modem is actually a gateway (a combination modem & router) or that your ISP does not provide you with a public IP address. Instead, they are providing you with one of their private IP addresses. This makes remote access much more difficult, and would require another solution all together.

But what you said about the 172 makes sense...should be 192, right? That's probably the heart of the problem...

It is, but unfortunately not because you are getting 172 or 192. IP addresses starting in 10, 172, or 192 are local addresses. They are not publicly reachable ones.

What could the "another solution all together" look like?

Use an ISP that will provide you with a public IP address. Either static or dynamic. This would be an IP address that does NOT start with either of those three I mentioned.
