Repairing bootcamp after creating partition in Macbook Pro 13" Mid-2012

Hi All,

I have made a mistake like few other users and created a FAT-partition to resize my bootcamp partition space.

After this I am not able to boot into Windows (Bootcamp) anymore. I can see it when choosing the default start up system in OS X but I can not choosing it after restart with ALT-key pressed.

I've read some threads about the exact same problem, but as every user was ask to post a new problem,

I'm doing so now and hoping that there will be someone who will help me out in this situation.

I've even tried executing few procedures mentioned in the old threads but it didn't worked well in last few steps.

My system:

MacBook Pro 13" mid 2012

OS X Sierra 10.12.3

(Windows 10 on Bootcamp)

Below I attach the output of various commands mentioned in other threads:

1. Shutdown your Mac.

2. Power it backup and hold Command+R, before the Apple logo shows. If you see a spinning globe, you have additional issues.

3. If you do not see a spinning globe, you are in Local Recovery. Click on Utilities -> Terminal in the Menu bar, and type each line beginning with csrutil and press enter/return.

4. After all three commands complete successfully, click on the Apple icon, select Quit, and choose the OS X startup disk for normal boot.

5. Type csrutil status in normal Terminal window to verify that the previous set of commands was done correctly. Now continue with the fdisk steps.

You need to disable SIP. Please use the steps in Re: bootcamp fails to start after upgrade to macOS Sierra . Do not use Mini Partition Tool. It does not work correctly on a Mac.

Apple tools do not support resizing Windows partition. You either need to remove/re-install Windows or use third-party cloning software. There are other tools (GParted and Startup Repair), or Windows backup/restore which may also work.

What tool did you use? What was done to the FAT partition? Did you try some other 'Google' links to try and fix before posting here? Did you use a link from the Nerdr website?

I have used Disk utility to create another free partition, which I was supposed to include in my bootcamp partition via Mini Tool partition wizard. But just after creating the new partition, when I restarted my MacBook it didn't recognise any bootcamp partition from where it can boot the Windows, but its actually there when I looked under the Mac OS.

I have simply tried the below steps:-

sudo fdisk -e /dev/disk0

p

setpid 4

07

flag 4

p

write

y

Results from the above steps are as follows:-

You have mentioned the below recovery details:-

I have the Sierra OS, but not sure how to perform this step:

You will need to disable SIP by booting into Local Recovery (using Command+R - not Internet Recovery) and click on Utilities -> Terminal and type

You have either El Capitan or Sierra. You will need to disable SIP by booting into Local Recovery (using Command+R - not Internet Recovery) and click on Utilities -> Terminal and type

csrutil status

csrutil disable

Boot normally and check the output of csrutil status which should now be disabled.

Run the following commands (ignore the i386 MBR error but not any others) and test.

sudo fdisk -e /dev/disk0

Reboot and Test.
