I was cleaning my old early 2011 MacBookPro. I noticed on the charging port some metal was showing through. The dark grey areas were chipping off when I was using a toothpick. Is this normal and is the grey part buildup?

The grey part is normal. On two of mine I checked, both are a lighter grey color. I would stop scraping it off.
