Printer icon number wont clear

The printer icon in my dock has a red circle with a number in it indicating the amount of items in the print queue. Although I have an empty queue and have reset my router/printer and MBP I am unable to remove the number '1' from the icon. Can anyone direct me how to do this? Thanks.
