Gmail PDF scam - Am I at risk?

Friends,

I'm usually more attentive to details but distraught over reading recent headlines and receiving an email from a trusted friend I was on autopilot mode. I clicked the PDF attachment in the email (via my gmail account on my iphone) and when it started loading on Safari I immediately closed that window and closed all of Safari. Nothing seems to be amiss on my phone and I did not provide any information (fill a form, etc.). Am I at risk for a virus? Have I been hacked?

The email I received below:

Hello,

As long as you didn't put any personal info(Apple ID, card number etc) you are fine. iOS is very secure. If you are not already I will suggest keeping up to date with iOS as every update fixes any possible vulnerabilities and strengthens iOS.

And Website/App etc that says you have malware/viruses are all scams.

If you device is jailbroken then there's a possibility of getting a virus.

You can also Clear History and Website Data. Note this will close any open tabs you have, your history and any cookies.
