Finally after 30 mins of trying on my own, I discovered about Setting The Pram
Turn on computer immediately
Press and hold Command_Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears
hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the second start up sound—release keys,
the red dot was gone and all apps and iCal work perfectly.
