I have good email that keeps landing in junk and notice that this occurs only since upgrading to Sierra. On the Sierra Mail, there is no thumbs down icon that could be toggled for earlier OS non-junk emails.

Also some are experiencing an issue with Mail not remembering when an item is marked junk or not junk - not sure why, might be the type of account (POP or IMAP), the same link discusses a possible work around.

Found out today that the bucket button is the successor to the thumbs button and it worked fine. Thanks for your input!
