ipod nano 8th generation - can't delete music

I have an 8th gen ipod nano, my husband has a 6 or 7th gen. We share the same library, and I used to be able to "untick" the music that I didn't want synched and it wouldn't appear on mine. Now everything downloads, and I can't delete his music from mu ipod, there is no delete function even when connected to the computer. How do I download only my music, and delete his from my ipod without removing it from the library?

Assuming you are referring to the latest iPod nano, have you checked to see if this option was ticked under settings?

This option allows you to add and delete music manually on your iPod nano. To delete songs, use the backspace key on your keyboard while the song you want to delete is selected.

Also, if his music always downloads to your iPod when you connect it to iTunes, you may want to turn off the automatic sync option when connected, as this may be the cause all the unwanted downloads.

Hope this helps!
