When downloading photos from icloud to my pc I clicked on the download boxes numerous time as nothing seemed to be happening. I now have multiple copies downloading. can I stop these downloads as I have 50.000 photos trying to download.
HAve just got my photos from icloud to my windows 10 laptop this past day.
HAving watched it for a bit, after clicking the button twice, thinking it wasnt doing anything due to the lack of information shown about the status of the download. I think it downloads the file only once then duplicates it to the extra duplicate folders. So no worrying about it using double the bandwidth by downloading the files twice. Let it finish then delete the duplicates. Thats what i have done anyway.
a bit confusing, some more settings would be good. Although when clicking the icloud settings button, no settings appear.
im getting out of icloud photo sharing due to the complications, (lack of settings and small amount of free storage). Im now going to use google photos cloud service, for viewing my library from all devices, instead of icloud. And ill manually offloadphotos to my pc/laptop/mac, as well, so i have a full resolution hard copy, not in the cloud, on a hard drive in my house, connected to my pc/laptop/mac.
I did the same exact thing today. I figured out that you can go to your iCloud settings and unmark the photo option and apply. It'll stop your downloads. Unfortunately I did it and didn't think about how I would probably have to start over again to finish downloading my photos like I was trying to do in the first place. So I'm starting over but at least I wont have tons of files anymore. Good luck.
