why did the audio of my video changed pitch after i put it on the timeline of final cut pro?

I imported my video from iPhoto to desktop. And then imported from desktop to final cut pro x. Then on final cut pro x, i dragged the video on the timeline, and then when i played it, the audio was in lower pitch and a little slower? Why did that happen? PLease do help me. I have to submit this video today... 😟 Thank you very muhc for ur time!!!

FYI, when I play the video from the library, it plays okay and the audio and speed is in original. But ONLY when i drag the video on the timeline, it changes the pitch and speed of the video. The pitch of the audio is a little flat and the speed is like 5 seconds slower than the original. Just a little bit. But still.... it's not right. And then once I export it, it's still slower and the pitch is flat. PLease do help me!!!

The frame rate of your clip is slightly off, at 24.99 - it should be 25.

Regarding your project: you don't say what the frame rate is. Select the project in the browser, open the Inspector (command-4), and click the info tab (marked with a circled i).

Post a screenshot of what you see - especially regarding frame rate.

You say your project is 720p, that does not cause a problem, but if it is, say, 24fps, that may be relevant.

Hi!!! Thank you so much!!! So i checked the fps for my project and it said 23p.! So i changed it into 25p then made my video into 25p, it worked!! Thank you so much!!! Btw, if u don't mind me asking another question, I have to submit my video with only 100mb max. But this video is 170mb. Do u know how i could convert it into 100mb?..(without changing the quality of the video or not making it blurry?) thank you again!!

Hi Tom. Oh, actually it's okay now.... mm... i mean it's not blurry and I took the video from dslr panasonic lumix... You know when you create a new project, you can change the HD and the frame rate like 23p or 24p or 25p..?.. that's what I did. Sorry, maybe it's not called as frame rate.. hehe Anyway, the video is solved. My problem now is that it's 170mb when i exported it. But the company needs me to send them the file into 100mb max. 😟 I don't know how to convert it into 100mb without making the video blurry or cutting the video 😟

There are several export options for you.

If you do File->Share->Master File, and choose "Computer", you can choose to export at 960x540, which should reduce the file size quite a bit.

You can't have it all: large frame size, great video quality, small file.

With Compressor you probably could tweak the bit rate to get a smaller file, but quality would likely suffer.

Awesome! Thank you for the info again!! 🙂 Yea I know, I was surprise too when they said they only want 100mb.. 😟 So i'll just edit and shorten my video a bit.

Lastly, the company asked me to send them either (MP4, WMV, AVI) files. But when i exported my video from Final cut pro x, it says "___.m4v". Is m4v the same as MP4? or do u think they will still accept it if it was m4v? Or if you do know how I can export my video into those files, please do let me know. Thank you!😍
